The Earth of the future has become a wasteland due to mankind’s insatiable appetite for advancement, land space and depletion of the planet’s resources to sustain a growing population. Most of the indigenous animals and much of its plant life has been made extinct. Animal and botanical life has been relocated to extragalactics planets Gaia Major and Kepler-62e. Technology now does the role the planet’s ecology once did; atmospheric processors are keeping the air oxygenated and removing carbon buildup amongst other tasks, while full scale terraforming plans are in preparation. But with outbreaks of diseases, drought, riots and fear of the Polymorph plaque, the focus has been to reinforce defences. On Earth’s few habitable zones overcrowding is growing problem as refugee camps swell to hold the displaced citizens of Polymorph invaded territories.
